Oakville: Explore The Pristine Harbor City

To get away from the daily hustle-bustle of the city, I took a weekend trip to Oakville. This place has a small town feel to it and is a great option when it comes to the holiday destination. Only 30 kilometers drive from Toronto took me to this pristine city. However, it is often neglected by tourists. If you are ever in Toronto, I would ask you to spend a day or two in Oakville. Take a look at what you can do when you are in the city.

  • Relax in the park

Bronte Creek Provincial Park is a natural beauty. It is at the western edge of Oakville. Irrespective of the season you are visiting, this park will never disappoint you. In case you do not simply want to relax and hike or bikes, you can do so in the trail of the park. There is an outdoor swimming pool and taking a dip in the water was so relaxing. The park offers camping facilities. So, if you want you can also spend a night camping.

  • Get to know about golf history

Visit the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame to learn more about golf and its history in Canada. It consists of inductees which have coaches, player’s golf courses, or might have contributed to the game in some way. Do not forget to check out the museum which showcases the records and materials of golf.

  • Enjoy a festival

What I loved about this small town that it hosts some lovely annual events. Waterfront Festival has been the largest one but the last time it was held was in 2013. One of the popular festivals of the present time is the Jazz Festival. The concerts on the nine stages are absolutely free. Being an art enthusiast, I also visited the Love of the Arts Festival. There is also some annual festival for foodies.
